Who we are
Tripysi (“Tripysi”, “we”, “us”) operates the Tripysi mobile app and this website. This policy explains what personal data we collect when you use them, why, and the choices you have.
What we collect
Account and profile
- Your name, email address and/or phone number, and a password or one-time code, when you sign up.
- If you sign in with Apple or Google, the name and email those services share with us.
- The profile you set up: the name on your passport, username, passport photo (avatar), home country, date of birth, bio and travel interests.
Posts, comments and connections
- Photos, videos and captions you post, the city you tag them with, and the comments you write.
- Posts you like or save, and the people you follow and who follow you.
- Searches you make for travellers, cities and posts, and profile codes you scan.
Location
- While using the app: your precise location, to show nearby missions and posts, and to verify mission check-ins.
- In the background (optional): during an active trip, to detect when you arrive at a mission location. You can turn this off at any time in your device settings.
We don’t attach your location to your posts. A post only shows a city if you tag one.
Photos, camera and NFC
- Photos you take or choose as mission evidence, and receipts you upload (images or PDFs).
- QR codes you scan and NFC tags you tap at partner locations, to verify missions.
- We only access your camera or photo library when you choose to use them.
Trips and travel wallet
- Trips you plan (destination and dates) and the bookings and tickets you add to your travel wallet.
- If you choose to connect a travel app where this is offered, the bookings that service shares with us. You can disconnect it at any time.
Store orders, payments and the physical passport
- Your cart, wishlist, coupons you apply, and your order history, including cancellations and returns.
- The recipient name, phone number and delivery addresses you save, and the printed name you give when you claim your physical passport.
- Payments by UPI or card are processed by our payment providers. We receive confirmation of the payment and its method, but we don’t store your full card number or UPI PIN.
Activity
- Missions, trips, stamps, XP, coins, achievements, league standing and notifications: the things that make the game work.
Device and diagnostics
- Device type, OS and app version, push-notification tokens, crash reports and performance data, and product-usage events that help us fix bugs and improve Tripysi.
How we use it
- To run your account and the core game: missions, verification, stamps, rewards, your passport and the league.
- To show your posts and profile, build your feeds and search results, and suggest places and travellers.
- To plan trips and build city guides.
- To process store orders and payments, and to print and deliver your physical passport and orders.
- To review mission evidence and posts, and to prevent cheating, fraud and abuse.
- To send notifications you’ve allowed, and service messages about your account and orders.
- To keep Tripysi secure, diagnose problems and improve the product.
- To meet our legal obligations, including tax and accounting records.
What others can see
Tripysi is a social app. Other Tripysi users can see your public profile: your display name, username, avatar, bio, home country, level and XP, travel stats, follower and following counts, your passport stamps, and your posts with their captions, city tags, likes and comments.
If you take part in the Annual Travel League, your display name, avatar, rank and XP appear on leaderboards.
Your email, phone number, date of birth, location history, trips, travel wallet, orders and delivery details are never shown to other users.
Who we share it with
- Service providers who help us run Tripysi (cloud hosting, crash reporting, analytics, notifications, payments, printing and delivery), only for those purposes.
- Payment providers, who process UPI and card payments for store orders.
- Delivery partners, who receive your delivery details to deliver your orders and physical passport.
- Travel services you connect, only what’s needed to link your account, and only if you choose to connect them.
- Partners only receive aggregated, non-identifying information about mission activity at their locations unless you ask us to share more.
- Authorities, where the law requires it or to protect the safety of our users.
We do not sell your personal data.
How long we keep it
We keep your data for as long as your account is active. Posts and comments you delete are removed from Tripysi. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymise your personal data, except where we must keep certain records (for example order, payment and tax records) for a limited period by law.
Your choices and rights
- Permissions: location, camera, photos, NFC and notifications can be turned off at any time in your device settings. Some missions need them to be verified.
- Your content: edit your profile, and delete your posts and comments, at any time in the app.
- Notifications: choose what you hear about in the app under Notifications › Settings.
- Delete your account: in the app under Settings › Delete account.
